Man, 95, with axe blocking school bus cited, Park Ridge police say

PARK RIDGE, Ill. — A 95-year-old man was cited Tuesday by Park Ridge police after they said he allegedly had an axe and blocked a school bus because he was upset kids were unloading on his lawn.Officers were called around 3:30 p.m. to the area near Virginia Street and Goodwin Drive on the report of a man with an axe standing in the street blocking the bus. FBI releases photo, video from armored truck robbery at Chicago Heights grocery story When officers arrived, they learned the man was not making any threats and was blocking the path of the bus, according to a press release from Park Ridge police.The man was cited under a local ordinance for disorderly conduct, according to the release.

CDTA hosting career fair Thursday

(NEWS10) -- The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) is hosting a career fair on Thursday, September 21, at the CDTA headquarters at 110 Watervliet Avenue in Albany, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. All current open positions with additional information can be found online. Due to the CDTA expanding into Warren County, merging with the Greater Glens Falls Transit System, more workers are needed for the third Bus Rapid Transit line, the Purple Line, later this fall. Those who fill out an application will be able to enjoy free food and spin a prize wheel. Positions such as bus operators, maintenance technicians, and more, are available.

I do this often, as I enjoy my own company. Yesterday though, when I was getting ready to leave the restaurant, I was saying a friendly goodbye to the hostess when she stopped me and told me I had food in my teeth. I was humiliated and embarrassed. I immediately went to the ladies' room and took care of the food, but I couldn't believe that a stranger would say something to me like that. A good friend or family member, absolutely, but a stranger?!?!? That seemed so wrong to me. Teen robs south St. Louis taco stand, charged with first-degree robbery

LOUIS - We all know someone who gets "hangry" when they need something to eat, but a St. Louis teenager takes it to the extreme.Police say 19-year-old Antonio Murray held up a taco stand on Cherokee Street just to get one taco. It happened on the night of September 8. Federal agents head operation on I-270 in St. Louis County An employee of 'Lilly's Panaderia' explained that she was making a taco for another customer when Murray walked up pointing a gun, grabbed the taco, saying it was his, and then left.Police said when they found Murray, he was carrying either a BB gun or an airsoft pistol. He is now charged with first-degree robbery.
